Who We Are
Since 1952 our volunteer and career paramedics and emergency medical technicians respond to 911 calls from the community with pride, professionalism, and a true desire to help those who are sick or injured. As part of the Bucks County EMS system, Newtown EMS responded to more than 2,700 911 calls for assistance in 2023 from our station in Newtown Township, and our new sub-station in Washington's Crossing at the Upper Makefield Fire Department.
Much has changed in the delivery of emergency medical services since the squad started more than 70 years ago. Each year the Department of Health introduces new and revised protocols that expand the scope of practice of EMT’s and Paramedics. We are able to do more for a patient in the field resulting in better patient outcomes and shorter hospital admissions. With the expanded services come operational challenges, both in material and finances.
I have an open door to any community member who wishes to have a tour of our operations, ride along with a crew, or voice concerns, ideas, and opinions.
